She is WOMAN and don't you forget it! 70 years old now.............

Anyone remember her role where she acted & sang in Disneys Pete's Dragon :D

Could still remember buying a cheap counterfeit cassette of her greateset hits in New World amusement park. $1 meant I skipped lunch that day. What was remarkable about her singing voice is that it was exactly the same as her speaking voice. Anyone still rememeber the smell of rust on those cassette tapes?

It began with the cartridge type and later the cassette. What was annoying about them was they expanded when left in the car for a long time. The music later became distorted after that and yes they do smell rusty.

Yeah the 8 track cartridge. My first purchase of a car stereo. Later with an adapter fror cassette tape. Come on anyone would have told you under the sun on a dashboard is a no no! The tape is adhered oxide. It drops off with use........

Those days it was too troublesome to take them out especially the 8 track cartridges as they were cumbersome. Besides those tapes were relatively cheap. The CD's that cost 20 cents each to produced but sold at $18 retail, those were real killers. Even today the profit margins are many times the initial production cost.
