With the launch of Diablo 3, might be a good time to talk about those albeit a few that we lost along the way.
I know of 2 cases, one personally and the other thru someone else but I met the guy, both scholars who lost their way in the arena of online gaming. The first one was doing engineering, cool, clam and never showed signed of stress. He would chalk recording breaking scores. Though he graduated after repeating one year, he did not make much of his life and last I heard doing MLM from JB.
The second was a really bright scholar that within months stopped attending classes, always appeared zombied after all nighter. The Uni asked him to go home and take a year off just before the exams. His classmates and friends made numerous attempts to help him but to no avail. Really nice guy, easy going, no airs, etc. No idea what happened to him there after.
Really feel sorry for such bright guys to go down in this manner.
I seldom see such cases appearing in the media except for the occasional Korean dying in his seat after 3 days of non-stop gaming. I wonder if others have heard of similar cases.
