I've never been to the Budget Terminal but I may visit the place because it will soon to be history. I heard that it is going to make way for an increase in demand for terminals:eek:

I think it was big blunder that they built the BT with minimal conveniences. Even budget travellers expect conveniences like escalators & accessibility:biggrin:

Big mistake to built budget terminal. Only few $ cheaper than full service terminal.

i think they didnt expect the budget model to survive...much less thrive. They know better now.

the authorities should just rename it to ASEAN terminal since most of the flights are to neighbouring countries.

No AirAsia in SG? I remember i took 1 less than a year ago?

Initially, back in 2004-2005, AirAsia was denied landing rights in Singapore. Then the Budget Terminal and Tiger Airways were both set up.

Anyway, costs in Singapore are getting too high. Let's see how much more 'budget' these budget flights can go... maybe they'll do away with the pilots and train stewardesses how to fly an airplane...

I had a late flight from Jakarta to Singapore already booked.
My meetings near the airport had ended had earlier than expected and it was really boring in CGK airport, had time to burn.
Walked around and then saw a Tiger counter and there was a flight available...
Went to ask and directed to another counter to check, etc.

It was one-way USD30 all-inclusive!!!
Heck, even when I drive to JB on the weekends, it costs me more!
I booked immediately and flew back, now here typing this!... instead of waiting another few hours doing nothing there.

Thanks to cheap budget carriers like Tiger, long may they fly high up the friendly skies!

Btw, it was my first time flying budget and on Tiger, I have to admit the experience was quite good - the emergency briefing was quite cheeky and funny too, definitely better than those run-the-mill messages by all other airlines I've sat in and did not even listened anymore to...
In fact, for such short distances of less than 3 hours, I'm now thinking why bother to buy full-fare at 5-10x more expensive and eat lousy food?

I did not even realise that I was at THE Budget Terminal until I had landed and had to walk to the airport terminal, hahaha...
Actually not too bad lar... except got no airbridge and have to walk, it was quite acceptable, since the tickets are so affordable!
And I was so engrossed checking my phone messages in the taxi that I did not realise until half-way, I asked the Ah Neh uncle whether the Terminal was at Seletar (it was dark and I was engrossed)... he told me no lar, was at Changi too, hahahaha... OK, OK tonight I learned a few new things!
