Ya ya ya the big light green coloured gas tank is like an icon in that area near to Van Hounten factory and I believe the Telefunken factory is also close by. I didn't know about the mini-zoo.

Chocolate smell always in the air when taking bus 61 traveling thru there to holland.
There were a few textile factories as well, wing tai and heshe were there.....now stands the haw par technocenter.

My eldest sister works in Wing Tai like for years and years. In Hokkien we call it yeow-tai.

Bukit Merah, before they shut it down. I guess no more business after HDB moved to Toa Payoh. Building is still vacant now.

Bukit Merah did not have it's own MRT station. Some of my friends said that TPY central is now 'infested' with property agents that they have lost that good'ol memory of the previous TPY central. What about AMK central ?

Im surprised no one mentioned the outlet at centerpoint. That is my fav Mac.Remembered during those days where I would pon tang school and hang out there with the boys and gals I got to know outside. There used to be gang fights quite often and those rounded up will either be sent to central or tanglin police stations for statements.
