I know LTK well and I know, with his Chinese education background and good understand of ancient Chinese history, he would have sacked YSL swiftly. But I guess he is not the only one making decisions. There are some WP CEC members who cannot see the bigger picture and entangled themselves with personal feelings. What is worse, there are people with personal hidden agenda in there as well. That is why this sacking took just too long to come.

The WP CEC should not accept YSL's resignation from CEC in the first place. I think most of the CEC members are inexperienced when they decided to accept his resignation. YSL only offered resignation from WP CEC to save his position as MP without being accountable to what happened. Accepting such resignation sends the wrong signals to him as well as the public at large.

Only those so call "academic political observers" would say something like WP will not sack YSL. This is because they have not been through opposition politics and they didn't understand each individual players well.

Anyway, let's look forward. PAP will try to drag on the by-elections, hoping that Yaw-gate would create bigger crack within WP. YSL has two options, one is the legal path, challenging the sacking. Two, demand to have Extra-ordinary Party Congress to be held so that he could seek "reinstatement" through the cadres. Either ways, he will pull the party wide apart and bear in mind that the re-election of CEC and key appointment holders (Chairman and SG) is to be held by June/July.

Anyway, he was given two chances, once when he blurted that he voted for PAP in the 2006 election - that was the worse confession I doubt any opposition can swallow. Now his 2nd confession was betrayed by the church. As Trump would say "you are fired!" and he leave no other option for LKY. Regardless of what he did, he is an honest person who like confession. As a matter of fact, WP decisiion came quick and decisive (in less than a month) in contrast to what most people say WP took too long to come clean. If you look at the corruption surrounding civil servants, PAP took months to disclose before the news were accidentally break through Wanbao paper. I beleive many PAP civil servant corruptions cases were still hidden from view, we have not heard anything about Choo Wee Kiang being brought to justice todate and his son Desmond Choo has the moral to eye for Hougang? What an irony!
