thinking of getting a colour laser printer to replace my broken down hp deskjet.:o
any recommendation? thxs in adv.
A few years ago I bought a Fuji Xerox color laser printer. Back then they were still quite large. The colors are not as vibrant as a inkjet, but you don't have to worry about the ink drying. It's also cheaper than inkjet printers because you get thousands of pages.
I now use a B&W laser, a HP Laserjet P1102W. It's much faster than the color laserwriter. When you power up a color printer it makes alot of noises & it jams more easily than a mono printer. My color printer is now sitting in the corner because someone moved it & now whenever I try to power it up I get feedback that there is a jam
So if you decide on a color laser writer be careful when you move the printer:(
so in your opinion, should i get or not? i need some black and white document to look professional.:o
same la ... sama-sama la ... yi yang de ...colour laserjet vs bubblejet ...
When you wanna buy a laser printer, make sure the cartridges are cheap, HP is a good brand....

I would recommend a laser printer because of the quality of the output & cheaper price per page than an inkjet. You also don't have problems with the ink drying up. The difficult choice is choosing between a color or monochrome laserwriter.
A color laserwriter will always be slower & less reliable because it has more parts than a monochrome laserwiter. Every page has to go through the printer at least twice. Only you can decide if the extra time is worth it. There is also the extra cost$ of consumables.
Whichever printer you choose I recommend you check with those companies at Sim Lim which are selling re-fill toner/inkjet cartridges. They can tell you which models they support so that when you need to replace the cartridges you can get it cheaper from them.

i was a strong supporter of HP due to its performance at my workplace, thus decided to get one and put at home. but the later series of the colour laser i got is like shit, jam like fuck which i have no freaking reason why. i only used it for about say 4 years.

Brother laser printers - reliable and lasts for years.
The third party inks are also much superior and cheaper than the original ink cartridges.I'm using the CANON MX350 All-In-One (bubble jet) printer. Ever since I modified to the CISS (Continuously Ink Supply System), I'd never look back. It's much more economical than using the original CANON cartridges. However, do note that you will risk your warranty being void by CANON if they will find out about the modification.

HP laserjets used to rule printing world. Not the new models though. If you can find a 10-20 year old laserjets and and its still working. Use that. If not go for one of these.
