For the ultimate obiang experience, rear speakers and led lightings is a must.

a winch is useful if u go off roading often. maybe add a roo bar in front and have spot light mounted on top of the cab to complement the winch. a jb friend love to drive his father's isuzu pickup truck. Most of the time he will take over the pick up and hand his own car (spore plated) to his father whenever he cross the causeway.

The back cover looks very "Oh Biang".

Leongsam, noted with thanks.

I will be increasing the height by another 6" by changing the suspensions because I want to be able to go over at least 1m of water. Need to change the wheels too to larger ones, what do you think of NITTO brand? I like my wheels and suspension to make my truck look like this, do you think its obiang?

sleaguepunter, I will be adding the roo bar, as for winch I am considering but I am intending to have it more for aesthetic not using it because will not be doing any off-road on this truck.

well, the winch is also useful when other vehicles kenna stuck. are you considering adding a tow bar to hitch a trailer? it a useful item to have considering u want to own a boat.

1. Do not install a rear canopy like the one in your picture. It spoils everything.

2. If you're going to install larger and wider wheels, be prepared for a noisier ride and a greater danger of aquaplaning in the wet. If you install off road tyres, the ride gets even noisier and road holding can be severely compromised when driving on smooth roads. Those tyres aren't designed for on road use. They are designed for better grip when driving on dirt tracks or muddy terrain.

Yes I think the tow bar looks great too. All my company trucks have this installed to tow some light trailers.

Noted, no rear canopy, actually I kindda like it open too. As for the tyres someone today warned me the truck will sound like a helicopter above 80km/h with tyres like that. I will update again for opinion once I selected a few.

Thanks to all.

And don't forgot the RESCUE sticker.Rescue+I.JPG.

You can install larger and wider wheels. It makes the truck look great. However, stick to road tread rather than going nobbly and be very careful in the wet. Wide tyres aquaplane very easily even at 60kph.

Noted Sam. My maid will be the one driving the truck more that me so her safety is top of my concern. She's about only 1.5m tall I wonder if she can handle this truck. So far she handle my Camry and RX very well.

Still waiting excitedly for my ride.

You know something funny? I ordered the truck through my office purchaser lady. As mentioned she got a god deal for me with discounts and accessories thrown in but you know something funny? I've still not seen my sales contract, I've still not paid my order deposit and the everything so far is verbal. I've asked her a few times for these and she kept saying "Khun Joe, jai yen yen (cool it), no need, everything ok we repeat VIP customer no need." Anyway this is Thailand, things got done the Thai way every time. Promised to deliver before Apr/12 (Songkrang day).

Hi joetys,

Do you experienced any cases of people taking things from the opened bed of your truck? Sometimes street urchins take joyrides too in other 3rd world countries.

I've not got my truck yet but waiting however my company has 16 pickup trucks doing delivery and after living here for some years I've not heard anyone stealing from open truck while the truck is on the move (I mean even when stopping at traffic). However I've heard of parked truck havomg stuff stolen. I was also told that spare tires at the back of trucks or SUVs almost sure to be stolen when parked.

What about you Borat? When you are any cases of stuff stolen from open trucks?

I have seen street boys jumping onto open trucks taking what they can find and at traffic lights they will jump out. I don't have any trucks so I don't have the experience but it is quite common in 3rd world countries.

I have seen this in Jakarta and Manila, I hope you're not referring to Thailand as it will be new to me.
