Unlike some forumners here, I go to the root of a problem. To me, pap's bad policies such as great influx of foreigners, education policy, etc caused crowded places, loss of personal space, longer waits, smaller homes, strange languages, insecurity, unceratainty, etc

Who else? So, you see PAP actually has recognized its problems all along but was unable or reluctant to entangle the mess. Most of all, they tried putting up a brave front as if nothing wrong had happened.

read point 4 in this thread & read point 44 in the following thread on the silver tsunami, http://singsupplies.com/showthread.php?108154-Singapore-s-Silver-Tsunami&p=935661#post935661

I guess the problems created are too great to solve. I also once linked the FT/FW policy as the govt's attempt to correct the failure of the Stop at Two policy.

One online analyst pointed out the computation done was incorrect and that you should not put in the replacement number of FT today when the shortfall would only come in 25 years' time. By doing so, you would be increasing the population and that was exactly what happened.

Because of this oversight, the infrastructure was not ready to receive the deluge of population increase. Human engineering requires a lot skill. Unfortunately we don't see it here.

if an education system fails, it will have serious consequences. it can breed generations of citizens with incorrect values and bad characters. wont these lead to the country's failure?

a country's failure would be amalgamated by more than just a single factor :p:p:p

any idea how HDB pigeon holes did that MBT build from 2000 to 2010?:eek::eek:
reckoned that's the period where those folks who were born in the "Stop @ 2" policy era clumped into the 30's to 40's age group.
taking a look at how the birth rate performed during this period, the repercussions will come back in a about quarter of a century.:eek::eek:

I once read that it was a very low number of flats. Need time to dig up the actual source.
