Burglar cum molester could face corrective training

A teacher kept her cool when she woke up to find a burglar touching her chest and groin at 2.20am. The 26-year-old saw Chan Wei Kiat, 32, reaching through the window of her ground-floor bedroom. He had a purple towel covering most of his face.
She calmly asked him what he wanted and he said that he would like to talk. The teacher, who was alone in the Pasir Panjang home that night in September 2011, then chatted with him and even allowed Chan to climb into her room through the window.
She also tried to lure him upstairs so that she could lock him in her father's bedroom and call the police. But, while climbing the stairs with her, he sensed something amiss and dashed out of the house the way he came in.
On Friday, Chan pleaded guilty to outraging the modesty of the teacher. He also admitted to committing criminal trespass and to housebreaking and theft offences.
