SINGAPORE: Mr Tan Kah Wan, who was a personal security officer for former Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, has died at the age of 81.

Mr Lee attended Mr Tan's wake at the latter's residence on Thursday evening.

The late Mr Tan, who died of pneumonia, was Mr Lee's personal security officer from 1965 to 1971.

In 1971, when Singapore hosted the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), Mr Tan was responsible for looking after the security of the heads of state visiting the Republic.
