I agree cruxx actually quite sad too la. Last year I suspect something inside bleeding went to top hospital Bumrungrad Hospital for endoscopy and colonscopy, they asked me to put 40,000 baht deposit by credit card end up I believe I paid something like only 33k-35k baht that's less than $1,500 also another time two Aug ago took out 2 wisdom tooth by surgery and 2 corresponding teeth by normal extraction cost only $390. I got all first class treatment by specialists. Fuck PAP and its medi-whatever.

More Arabs than angmoh la also many Africans too. I know of many Singapore friends who goes there for annual checks and after take a short holiday in Bangkok. They say it's worth. I believe them.

dude got legit complaint. Sg jr docs are overworked and underpaid. Aussie interns get paid more than dat and in aus dollars some more, admittedly tax is slightly higher here though.

I paid about the same in Singapore for the same operation and I paid through medisave and that reference from a private GP which is normally more expensive. In Singapore availability of facilities, especially beds, is a greater problem than cost.

Junior docs all over the world not well paid. Major US centers, they work very long hours also (nevermind what the official rules say). Problem is not pay but whether they find the work meaningful. Learning? Being inspired by seniors? If not, then the core of the system has problem. Patients suffer. Docs not well trained, unhappy, thinking of making big money. Most will find ways to do it eventually -- often not from solving complex medical problems that're what society needs but simple money-making procedures. Can only guess who's going to solve the complex problems....

The reputation of Spore doctors also took a beating in the area of politics, anyone remember the over budgeted YOG debacle It was organised by a doctor(Balakrishnan?)who obviously had problems with his numbers
