The Singapore Democrats will release its alternative report on Ministerial Salaries in November 2011. Entitled, “Ethical Salaries for a Public Service Centred Government”, the report is prepared by SDP’s Policy Studies Group and proposes concrete adjustments to the system of Ministerial Pay.
The National Solidarity Party (NSP), the opposition party which fielded the highest number of candidates in the May General Election, will hold a public forum on ministerial pay.
To be held at the NSP headquarters in Jalan Besar early next month, the forum comes ahead of a report by a committee appointed by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to review the same issue. Committee chairman Gerard Ee, 61, said in September that the review would be done by the end of the year.
The ministerial pay forum is part of that workplan and is organised by the NSP's policy committee, headed by Mr Tony Tan Lay Thiam, 41.
ministerial pay has nothing to do with policy formulations, it is clearly political, only directly affecting the minister and civil servants....
clearly JG and TT have run out of new ideas to help sinkies but more interested in taking political potshot
