I was drinking with my bunch of buddies when we witnessed this happening....
We went to a pub and there was an American who was drinking alone at the bar counter and was ordering shots after shots. He bought drinks for the Indian manager, the Malay waiters and even tried to buy drinks for some local gals. He was damn fucking noisy, screaming, shouting and singing to the music non-stop.
When it was near closing time and bill was presented to him, he told the waiter that he does not have enough. The bill was around $500 and he claimed he only has $200 with him. He told them to take it or leave it. He then tried to leave the pub but was stopped by the manager. They continued to talk and the American just wouldnt back down and tell them to take it as that is all he has.
Suddenly, the American just ran out of the pub.The manager and waiters gave chase...after about 15minutes, the manager returned and said they lost the American.
Some of the regulars then went off after paying and said that they will keep a lookout. Not long later, one of the Chinese customers returned and told the manager that the man was spotted about 3 streets away. He gave the manager a ride to the place. Some of the customers at the pub offered to help and left to the place too.
They managed to bring the American back to the pub and called for the police. After police arrived, American say he has credit card and paid up the remaining $300 before leaving...
A very interesting sight as we have all different race becoming very helpful to each other just because the other person is a foreigner...deep down...I think we are feeling that Singaporean has become a minority in our own country.
