Probably a destination of choice in the near future for retirees.

I've heard of quite a few oldies in Oz that "migrated" to Thailand, picked up a few "wives" there a live like lords with A$500,00 in savings.

Pity is some of them go there to pursue their sick pleasures as well (children, drugs)

It depends. Those who are more into western lifestyle and have no deep chinese roots woud migrate to the western countries and stayput. Those who have deeper Chinese roots and not so into western stuff would rather be in neighbourhood Asian countries (not my cup of tea). Cost of living is not the only consideration.
