Foreigners speaking no Thai or little Thai is the best catch. Those speaking fluent Thai means old bird (Roo Mod - know all) and probably has many geeks to support. Those speaking no Thai also good as long as they can speak Thaiglish.
Ram method is good just that you have to spent lot of time hunting. Best is come LOS and stay a few months. Who knows? Maybe will become your home.
i may sound a bit long winded, but to me, i think no matter which nationality u marry, it is still the same. cos the thing that matters is the chemistry between u and ur wife. for me, i married a thai, from bangkok outskirts.

and finally, regarding this issue of giving gifts and presents and money for the wedding. lets think back to our culture. didn't our relatives or friends go thru the ceremony with complete set of wedding cookies, oranges, candles etc etc? cos this is our culture. one item also cannot be missing. same will be applied to the thai side. they have kanom, banana and sugarcane and etc etc, that is why some people are not readily accept the idea of giving drowry to the thai side.
well, i'm not ashame to tell u how much i paid for my wife. i bought a total of 6baht gold and 200k baht as sin sod. however, out of the 6 baht gold, 3 baht will be returned to me, 3 baht goes to my wife, 100kbaht goes to our savings will the last 100k baht goes to the misc things in our wedding such as photo shoot, rental of thai traditional dress, cost of hotel when my immediate family goes there etc.
but as i say, there will still be some thai girls who demand gold and money and will not share these with u. but come to think of it, didn't some of the sg girls family also make high demand?

1. Japanese GF, price catch! Skin texture and appearance, no horse run. Absolutely submissive. Perfect for man who wants absolute obedience.
2. Korean GF, 2nd price. Appearance not far from Japanese. Suppose to be submissive and obedient. My experience is they can be quite rough.
3. PRC GF, this categories consist of too many sub-categories and is worthy of a thread by itself.
4. Malaysia Chinese GF, in my honest opinion, I always find Malaysia Chinese girls worthy of a becoming a lifetime partner. They are not over materialistic and most are quite humble. That was in the past but not sure now.
5. Singapore GF, knew good girls but lacking in the appearance and vice versa. The better looking ones walk with their nose pointing at the sky. Most pretend to be clever when they are not that clever. There are good ones around but most likely taken up.
6. Indonesia Chinese GF, 2 groups, the rich group which you can refer to Category 5. and the not rich group more similar to group 4. Most quite humble but willing to marry Singaporeans to stay in Singapore.
