Caught on film: SUV makes last-minute turn and flips over like prata...
A sport utility vehicle (SUV) which tried to make a last-minute turn on an expressway ended up mounting the guardrails and flipping over.
The harrowing incident took place along the Pan-Island Expressway at the exit to Bukit Timah Expressway at 8.33am, near Woodlands Ave 2.
According a witness, Mr Willie Tan, the somersaulting SUV nearly took out a motorcycle and another SUV on the sliproad. Mr Tan was just behind the SUV on his way to work when the accident happened.
A recording camera in his car caught the entire accident on video. He subsequently uploaded the video on Facebook and said that the SUV flipped over because it was 'going so fast' and 'missed a turn'.
Mr Tan said on his Facebook that the SUV 'nearly took out the bike in front and the other SUV on the sliproad'.
Luckily no one seemed to be hurt. In the video, the SUV was going in the direction towards Changi Airport when it suddenly swerved left towards the exit to BKE.
However the turn was made far too late and the SUV mounted the guard railings instead.
The video did not manage to record the SUV flipping over. According to The New Paper, the video has since spread online in car forums. Many users have commented on the driver's recklessness.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted at 8.36am and an ambulance arrived within five minutes. No assistance was needed as the driver was conscious.
A police spokesman said the male driver in his 30s was unhurt. The case has been classified as a minor accident.
