2 Door hatchback Civic? This used to be the favorite of the Bengs in the 90s. Some of these civics still around!

Personally, prefer the 4 door sedan Civic. Civic is a nice car to drive but fuel consumption is not friendly at all for it's size (1.8) . The Toyota Altis 1.8 (Civic's competitor), although with a much boring look, is much fuel efficient.

Manual great as long as you are not caught in a traffic jam.

I drove a manual car a decade ago and was once stuck in JB coming in to S'pore for more than 5 hrs. Computer breakdown was the reason given from JB Customs. Leg almost kena cramp. Auto cars make more sense here.

there were many times that i witness auto-car skid when engaging corner while raining. that's where manual gear's usefulness come in, you need to down the gear to use the engine brake before the corner. speaking from my experience. and another thing i noticed on the road, some pple's car tyres change to ultra wide one, that doesn't mean it won't skid hor.

Hence the use of steptronics, I change gear quite ofthen in situation like this.

never heard of steptronics, i am actually more into motor bikes and i sometimes do that when driving my cab:p

basically theres D where its just regular mode. then if you push it to the left your in "sports" mode where it will shift automatically and higher rpms. and if you push the levers up and down to manually shift, then your in steptronic where you shift by yourself.

not exactly, auto gear cannot engine brake. The last thing u want to do while cornering is to floor the accelerator pedal even though technically it would drop gear. Those newer auto gear car come with the ability to manually change gear by leaning the gear shift to the right using the + or -.

as for auto gear car better in a traffic jam, i cannot agree. it depend on what type of jam. Those stop move stop move type of jam, auto gear would be good but those never move type, manual would be better.

even though now driving automatic, i would still prefer the manual transmission. It give driver more control over the vehicle and if driver make an effort during driving, manual transmission car use less fuel and brake dont wear out as fast.

If die die want automatic, then better have those DSG auto transmission. They can down gear much faster, the VW 1.4 polo can go up the benjermin sheres bridge faster than a 2.5 subaru legacy because the subaru auto transmission refuse the shift down despite flooring the accelerator pedal.
