Any of you ppl been to macau before? Did you meet those that lost all their money at the casinos? Did they attempt to cheat or rob other patrons or passers-by?

I've been to the macau sands a few years ago with friends. Had lunch there while others in the group tried their luck at the tables.

In the restaurant I could see many punters who obviously haven't slept for a while taking a break. The look on their faces really made me think they are ghosts - desperate, expressionless, lifeless..... staring straight into nothingness.

I haven't stepped into MBS or RWS but I'm sure I'll see that same look in there.

Btw i have heard stories from a fren that visited the maucau casinos. She mentioned that outside the casinos she saw groups of ppl crying and huddling on the ground totally destitute. It seems that they had actually gambled away their entire fortune at the casinos so that essentially they were literally penniless.

I forgot to ask her is she felt any danger cos these ppl should be desperate to commit crimes. Any of you ppl been to macau before? Did you meet those that lost all their money at the casinos? Did they attempt to cheat or rob other patrons or passers-by?

Have been to macau several times and have never seen people crying and huddling outside the casinos or trying to rob others.
What I have encountered are loan sharks approaching asking if u need a loan.
The ferries to and from hk at all hours of the day and night are always packed, which makes u wonder if these people are full time gamblers. China patrons including big time rollers are also increasing in numbers. The casinos there are doing so well because of these, not the HK gamblers.

No I didn't come across any sort of the trouble in macau. I was told the triads there keep things in order. And the macau residential district is quite insulated from the casino district.

macau is actuallly quite safe..

i've been approached by few prc gamblers who lost all their money asking me to lend them
some monies saying they have got none left to go back,asking me for my hp no and bank account no
saying they promise to deposit once they get back,i did try to help them with a few hundred m&d ringgit i've left in my wallet,
but they refuse saying the ringgit is worthless,i've done the best i could because i myself have lost and seeing stars at that time.:*:
