Thinking of getting an Ipad, any adviCe?

I was hoping to get something like a tablet which is easy to carry around while I am working with it.

Yeah, Mac Air still opens like a lappy but guess it's lighter than my netbook which I use as a backup. By the way, what is your experience on battery life for the Mac Book Air, when you go intense on applications? The apple website states five hours on wireless web.

The Mac Book Air 11" is almost as compact as a tablet. Pop into a Mac store and see for yourself.

5 hours of battery life is gross misrepresentation though. More like 3.5 hours. It all depends on how you configure your energy saving parameters. If you want better battery life, go for the 13" model but then it's no longer almost as small as a tablet.

Touch typists like myself hate tablets as you can't rest your fingers on the keypads. You need to purchase a bluetooth keyboard but then it's no longer a tablet.

But I read that Ipad 2 needs a USB adapter, is that correct?

I am trying to find out if we need a modem stick for internet connectivity since the Ipad comes with a SIM tray. If so, then next question is will it work with any type of SIM cards purchased in the foreign locality, or only fixed and dedicated SIM for internet line.

Excuse me if I am wrong, because I am still noob in hardware for internet connections.

I've found that the cheapest way to get on line in any country is to purchase a 3G modem stick locally.

I think the iPad is the most overhyped piece of shit I've ever come across. I'm flabbergasted that Steve Jobs managed to pull it off. He's the con artist of the century. He's even better than Bill Gates... and he did it while dying of cancer. It's amazing.

The modem stick works fantastically well with the Mac book Air.

ipad have no usb.

Most people I know struggle to get 10 hours out of an iPhone.

ipad is different, since it has a huge battery, as for iphone, i told you before, it can last 1 week. as long as you do not use it as mp3 player, do not use the camera, do not use wifi , do not use bluetooth, do not run game or apps. yeah it can last 1 week for phone call.

I thought they have a plug in converter to enable usb?

no........................................................................................................................................................................

...........:(

No usb, means cannot plug in modem stick. If no wifi in my area, means no internet connetion unless I use I phone as hotspot, which will cost alot on phone bills tio bo:confused::(

no........................................................................................................................................................................
