Oh well, how much more important is our hallowed SAF is when Singaporeans elect a President whose sons have phony National Service record. Like they always say, if the top is not exactly whiter than white, don’t expect much from the bottom. If 12 years deferment is alright on top, what is selling some state secret man.

That chap was SAF OMS. Scholars draw above market salaries. When they offend, huge discounts given. Btw, he faced corruption charges and such cases (civil servants) usually more than a short jail term. DPP will always press for deterrent sentence. I am quite sure it wasn't the case here.

the cleaner was charged for house breaking which carries min jail time of 2 years....
whether he got away with 10cts or $100,000 is not the point....
the SAF officer was charged with selling confidential info; not state secrets....confi info is very subjective and is usually no big deal.....
what i find interesting is that as a SAF OMS holder, he is still a Cpt at 31 yo.....

Parents not of good stock, if 'puteh horsey', surely will be mini god (MG) rank....not a lowly Captain salary, 'taking' less than 'peanuts' tidbits!!....should be earning million dollars a year!..

Elites don't have to break into households. Manna falls from the sky. Just imagine millions of free kway teow plates falling from the sky

Some do get embarrassed but they can depend on their doggies & kangeroos to keep most of the pests away
