We have an Elected President OPPOSED by 65% of the electorate. Let's see how he and his inner circle elite oligarch friends can live this down.

The 65% not only oppose Tony Tan, they oppose him vehemently.

I don't see why the overseas votes wont be counted.
 
There are less overseas votes than the margin of the victory based on the local results.
They will be counted eventually, but the results can be announced.

Doesn't matter whether its 2 votes, 72 votes, 7200 votes or 72000 votes.

After full time and 2 hours of injury time, Tony Tan has won. We can relook and reinvestigate his winning margin later. But he has won.

Whether a 0.34% victory can be considered a real victory or not.. is another thing altogether.

This is going to result in hell because 65% of the country will be left with a President who they can't stand for the next 6 years. It's not like if TCB won with 35%, because at least some of the remaining 65% would be able to tolerate him. I can assure you that the 65% who didn't vote for Tony Tan are going to be VEHEMENTLY OPPOSED to his Presidency and he is not going to have any moral legitimacy whatsoever.

You can always count on the media prostitutes to spin positives into his win. They will have 6 years to do their job. Looking at how daft the majority of Singaporeans are to mainstream propaganda, I declare the media prostitutes the winner. Singaporeans will never win this game as long as we have imbecilic members or egomaniacs in the opposition camp. All they had to do was to unify themselves in the last GE and they din't do it. Even with the EP, they still didn't learn their lesson. Sadly, the majority of the people will suffer.

She is a 24 year old girl. She is a fad. Unless she can give people good reason to take her seriously as a politician, she will just become yesterday's news in 2016. PAP can roll out Sharon Au (or to illustrate my point, Fiona Xie) to take her place as the poster girl of local politics.

What is more important is that we the voters take a long hard look at ourselves.

It's sounds so phony when PM Lee "assures the newly-elected President of the government's full cooperation." It has such a hollow ring to it considering that TT is all along the government's anointed choice. The press, CNA NTUC, business associations, Tan Clan, Sharon Au Jannie Tay, Chua Thian Poh and just about anybody in authority have endorsed him. :rolleyes::rolleyes: Sinkapore is doomed. Goalposts will surely shift again and all loose screws tightened so that PAP rules forever in all spheres of power and influence.:(
 
Well I hope this 'win' for TT will turn out to be his 'Poison Chalice'. Since TT is Catholic, he will know what that means. I believe that TT's Presidency will be the most hated in all of Singapore's history. Even Prata Man will be looked on better.

There should have been a run off election with a finals between Tony and Tan Cheng Bok.

As things are now, shouldn't Tan Cheng Bok be the VICE PRESIDENT in case Tony were to suffer a fatal heart attack?
