Just want to confirm that in his speech, GMS mentioned that he asked TKL to be our president. Shouldn't that be that he suggested that TKL stands for PE? Similar but very very different in essence. I think unfortunately LKY has the power to say such things. Anyway, GMS your passion will never be forgotten.

Ok, I admit it's a little mean... I respect GMS for standing up and speaking on behalf of Singaporeans.

But in the book Liu Bei is described as being
1) 8 feet tall,
2) with a deep penetrating gaze,
3) distinguished facial hair,
4) booming voice
5) and of course, a magnet for talented men.

Not exactly close to my impression of GMS.

The ancient Chinese feet measure wasn't the same as Imperial British feet measure. I think so-called 8-feet in ancient Chinese is around 6-feet nowadays. I also don't recall Liu Bei recorded as 8-feet. Only two I recall recorded as above 8-feet, Guan Yu and Lu Bu.

You're right. My bad. I misquoted description of Zhang Fei instead.

According to Act 1 of the book, Liu Bei was:

1) 7 feet 5 inch tall,
2) with huge ears drooping to shoulder,
3) arms extending beyond knees,
4) handsome,
5) and has reddish lips

He is also best known, of course, as 6) a magnet for talented men.
