I am therefore amused when I see institutional bodies (unions, associations, trade bodies, etc) tripping over themselves to throw their support behind a particular candidate, with the hazy claim of representing their entire constituency.

So, for the bodies that have so eagerly thrown their support behind Dr Tony Tan, I have to ask what they will do if the horse they bet on is not first past the post. Will they do an about face and shower the plaudits they so readily gave earlier to Dr Tony Tan to whoever wins the election? Or will they just quietly and sheepishly slip into obscurity in order to save face?

Even if you horse wins . What is the immediate gains ?

It is not right for an independent associations who lived on donations and members money to endorse Tony Tan as if he will win the election. I may be a members and I will not endorse him, if he lose, the whole associations and unions will lose face and inevitably drag those members who didn't agree with the Union. Besides, votes are supposed to be secret, Tony Tan and SPH are desperate beyond hope!!!

Isn't voting supposed to be secret?

Will the same people who support the other TWO Tans do the same..."just quietly and sheeplishly slip into obscurity in order to save face"?

Come on, only ONE Tan will get past the post, so the other TWO Tans have no choice but to - according to you - just quietly.......... .
