actually I have been wondering for quite a while:

- you know the story of Ugly Duckling...its not correct right? Because that is not a duckling if it later becomes a swan. So technically, it must be The Ugly Cygnet or something.

- Little Red Riding Hood - I understand all the words except the Riding part - ride what? Just Little Red Hooded Girl will be more apt no?

- Why mata uniform is blue? What purpose? Why not black? Like that can spot in the day and concealable in the dark. As if blue can be seen well in the dark like that :D Why not red - if it is to be prominent?

- what is the origin of LJ and CB? Why is CB call CB? If I break out the word CB, chee and bye...they don't mean anything right? Why put together = CB? Sorry,I not native hokkien speaker - any brudders can explain? Same for LJ...

Kum sia...

Blue is cool while red or black is inappropriate and will draw flak and criticisms. Black will make them feel hot under the sun.

Riding - the hood can ride up and down?

Blue can attend both weddings and funerals.

loong, loong time ago, polis dun wear bleu 1 ...

Don't know the others, but Little Red Riding Hood was because she wore a hooded riding cloak which was colored red.

.....Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near the forest. Whenever, she went out, the little girl wore a red riding cloak, so everyone in the village called her Little Red Riding Hood.
One morning, Little Red Riding Hood asked her mother if she could go to visit her grandmother as it had been awhile since they'd seen each other.....

Cheers!

I think i know why its called Red Riding Hood liao...

I checked wiki...hee...it has a kinky origin:

[h=2]The tale's history[/h][h=3][edit]Earliest versions[/h]The origins of the Little Red Riding Hood story can be traced to versions from various European countries and more than likely preceding the 17th century, of which several exist, some significantly different from the currently known, Grimms-inspired version. It was told by French peasants in the 14th century as well as in Italy, where a number of versions exist, including La finta nonna (The False Grandmother).[SUP][3][/SUP] It has also been called "The Story of Grandmother". It is also possible that this early tale has roots in very similar Oriental tales (e.g. "Grandaunt Tiger").[SUP][4][/SUP]
These early variations of the tale differ from the currently known version in several ways. The antagonist is not always a wolf, but sometimes an ogre or a ‘bzou’ (werewolf), making these tales relevant to the werewolf-trials (similar to witch trials) of the time (e.g. the trial of Peter Stumpp).[SUP][5][/SUP] The wolf usually leaves the grandmother’s blood and meat for the girl to eat, who then unwittingly cannibalises her own grandmother. Furthermore, the wolf was also known to ask her to remove her clothing and toss it into the fire.[SUP][6][/SUP] In some versions, the wolf eats the girl after she gets into bed with him, and the story ends there.[SUP][7][/SUP] In others, she sees through his disguise and tries to escape, complaining to her "grandmother" that she needs to defecate and would not wish to do so in the bed. The wolf reluctantly lets her go, tied to a piece of string so she does not get away. However, the girl slips the string over something else and runs off.
In these stories she escapes with no help from any male or older female figure, instead using her own cunning. Sometimes, though more rarely, the red hood is even non-existent.[SUP][7][/SUP]
