MR FRANKIE Mao suggested that the Government lift restrictions on foreign ownership of landed property ('Landed home values stifled by property law'; Wednesday). We note his reasons, but other Singaporeans have asked the Government to further restrict foreign ownership of such properties.
On balance, the Government feels that landed residential properties must remain the primary preserve of Singapore citizens, given their scarcity here.
Foreigners who wish to purchase such properties must therefore seek the approval of the Minister for Law.
Approval will be given only to a small number of permanent residents who are making significant economic contributions to Singapore to own one landed property for their own stay.
Stringent conditions are also imposed on approved purchasers, for example, they cannot sell the property within three years.
The Government will continue with this strict approach to foreign ownership of landed homes.

WHAT THE FUCK?!!! No land should be sold to foreigners and PRs even if they are making significant economic contributions here! If they are want buy, they should become Singapore citizen! Fucking LKY-the traitor during Japanese times has no qualms about selling out Singaporeans to foreigners and 60% idiots calling him our Singapore hero???? What fucking idiots!

if you asked for the so called "small number',you will be astounded by the big figure.
Do not be mislead by the number in comparison to total numbers of residence as 85% of Silliporeans stay in HDB.
You must compare it with the number of applications as well as total number of landed properties.
Ask them to show the figures for the percentage of landed properties owned by foreigners(at point of purchase)in the last 20 years.

If you asked anyone who worked in the housing loans/consumer banking dept of financial institutions, they will tell you that approval is normally given if the spouse is staying here and a child is studying in Sillipore. Is this call significant contribution?

Was there no a piece of news in which one Indon bought a bungalow to keep dogs?

????????????????????????????????????????????????

Money Talks. Bullshit Walks.

Cheers!

There's no need for what the f*ck "strict approach." Foreigners (including PRs) cannot buy landed means cannot buy landed. Exceptions made, however "strict," means no more strict. Tell Ms. Chong go get f*cked by spider.

You allow FTs to buy 999 years/freehold condo flat, but refused them to buy 99 years lease houses?
So you are very smart?

What the fuck? You got no money you want land? Kan Nee Nah Beh Chow Chee Bye, I would rather sell my land to an FT for $2.5 million to an LL (Local Loser) like you for $500k.

Thanks for telling us that you are a big traitor. Your grandfather must have sold your grandmother to the Japanese for sex during WW2 and you are the bastard that resulted from that. :oIo:

Balls to you, LL understand? You cannot afford you're just a loser. That doesn't make the seller a traitor.

So it is alright to you if all the land in SG is owned by foreigners? This is very likely since there will always be foreigners who are much richer than SGreans. When that happens, would the NS slogan of "The m&d on my face is soil, our soil" still be valid? Is it still ours if we don't own it?

Will we end up with no land, much like the Palestinian people with Israel buying up the land?
