SingPost has since contacted the STOMPer and will ensure that her parcel reaches its intended address.

Wrote the SingPost spokesperson in an email (Jul 21):

"We refer to STOMPer Eanne Tay’s letter on 'Registered Mail to Indo but online status shows … Australia?' (20 July 2011, STOMP).

"We have since contacted STOMPer Eanne and apologised for the inconvenience caused.

"Due to an oversight, STOMPer Eanne’s item was misrouted to Australia.

"We have been following up with the postal administration of Australia and will ensure that the item reaches the intended address.

"We will keep STOMPer Eanne posted."

Wait till you try using their speedpost, waiting for registered parcel to arrive. If you ask them when will the parcel arrive? Every time it will be between 10am to 6pm.... That's monopoly for you...

Wait till you try using their speedpost, waiting for registered parcel to arrive. If you ask them when will the parcel arrive? Every time it will be between 10am to 6pm.... That's monopoly for you...

Actually their parcel delivery not all that bad, but you have to to at home to receive the parcel or else the collecting process is quite tedious. In the past, they will leave card at the door, next day, one go to the nearest Post Office to get the parcel at working hours. Now, you will have to go to Sing Post HQ @ Paya Lebar.

First, there is a number on the card to call, you have to call that number & try talking to a human. If you don't call that number to make arrangement to collect the parcel @Post Office HQ, you will discover how tedious it is to get your parcel. The staff will inform you that it takes 2 hours for them to retrieve the parcel from the building, three if it crosses lunch time. That means you have to idle at least 3 hrs to get your parcel, your fault for not listening carefully to the automated menu when you call that number; and your fault, you weren't in.

So, one have to get to talk to a human to arrange for them to retrieve your parcel from their logistic department deep in PO HQ, to the counter, if not, you have to wait for at least 3 hrs. It was easier in the past, where it is automatically directed to the nearest PO near you.

One thing so far, the parcel arrive in SINgapore in good shape, but getting your parcel from the Post Office, gets you in good shape also. Their parcel delivery service is not bad at all; you have to be fortunate to be at home to receive it anytime, any day when they male delivery.

:D

there is no monopoly lah...there is always fedex, dhl and ups...but be warned...these couriers are fucked up as well.
