Mr Tan Jee Say has decided to enter the presidential race. Mr Tan has picked up his form for eligibility at the Elections Department. He was a candidate at the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC in the last general elections together with Dr Vincent Wijeysingha, Dr And Yong Guan and Ms Michelle Lee.

Mr Tan is the former private principal secretary to then deputy prime minister Mr Goh Chok Tong. He informed SDP Secretary-General Dr Chee Soon Juan of his intention to run for the presidency and has resigned from the party to do so. Mr Tan has long championed the need for transparency and accountability of the way our financial reserves are deployed.
