I've got an older Yamaha DSP A1 & would like to connect an iPod/iPad to it . The A1 was manufactured before iPods was introduced, so there's no docking capability.

Anyone have suggestion on how best to connect an iPod/iPad:confused:
Where in Spore did you get the necessary cables, etc:confused:

The A1 has the following input options:

http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/hifi-components/amps/dsp-a1_black__u/?mode=model

The DSP-A1's rear panel has an extensive jack field capable of accommodating 3 coaxial digital and 5 optical digital sources as well as an RF input for an AC-3 ready LD Player. Additional 5.1 channel discrete inputs are also provided for use with external decoder. The unit has a total of 11 inputs, 5 audio, 6 video. All video inputs have provision for S-Video. 1 optical digital output is also provided.

Bro, now there are alot of new good amps can be connected to your Ipod.
These are 5 star ranking amps and they cost less than $500.
I suggest you read What's Hifi magazine for references. This is a good British Hi Fi magazine that's loyally followed by Hifi enthusiasts.:)

A waste to discard the DSP A1 since I paid $3,000 for it:(

That doesn't include the 2 floor standing Jamo speakers,& the 2 rear Monitor Audio speakers Even my cables cost a few hundred each:)

I was young and had money back then & wanted to buy a decent system before I got old & hard of hearing:D

The Pioneer DVD player cost me $950, Got me a Tjoeb CD player from Holland. It was a modified Marantz player which was modded to include valves for a warmer sound.

I was looking at those cute mobile systems that has built-in iPod docking. I forgot that I had already had a decent HiFi system:)

got cable that connect to ipod's LINE-OUT (for best quality) and at other end got 2 RCA plugs to amp.

For Hi Fi solutions don't forget about Adelphi. It's still "the" place for the expensive hardware.

I've seen the Onkyo docking products being sold there.

Agreed.. Used to buy my Hi Fi stuff there from Alpha Audio...
