A married woman called the press yesterday to say that she has been raped by her husband’s friend.
Xie Mei Qi (age 30, unemployed) called the Shin Min Daily hotline to share her woes. She had given birth to a baby girl early this year after the alleged rape, but has no money to buy diapers and milk for her 5-month-old daughter, whom she is raising alone.
Xie currently lives in a rented apartment in Marsiling, in the same block as her husband’s friend, whom she says raped her.
Xie’s husband, Zhang, 43, has been serving a seven year jail term since 2006 for burglary and for smashing a taxi’s window for its cashcard.
According to Xie, her husband’s friend is a drug addict, and she frequently visits him to hang out and chitchat in the absence of her husband.
On Valentine’s Day last year, the man injected morphine into her while she was distracted. This caused her to slip into a daze and unable to remember what happened after.
She says she woke up the next day feeling moist and sticky “below”, which led her to believe that she was drugged and raped by her husband’s friend the night before.
InSing editors did a brief calculation to clarify the timeline in this story. The rape allegedly occurred in mid-feb 2010. Some ten months later in early 2011, Xie gave birth to a baby girl, who is now 5-months old. Also, how did Xie get pregnant in the absence of her husband who has been absent since 2006?
