Why do Singapore want to have a impotent president ? For what ? Colossal waste of singaporean taxpayers' money only.
Why do we want to have toothless puppet president ? For repayment of gratitude to MIW lackeys ?
No veto powers BUT have advisory power? That means NOT an independnet president who can make decisions for the interests of ALL the Citizesn of Singapore .
Why do we need a so-called "elected" president in the first place ?
After talking so much in legal and political jargon,the ex-Minister of Law after so many many many tears NOW only come out to clarify the powers,rights and duties of an elected president ???

He does not have advisory powers - he has to act on the 'advice' of other people. On most matters he acts on the advice of cabinet. On specific matters related to past reserves, ISD detentions, the appointment of certain senior positions, he is expected to be advised by the Council of Presidential Advisors. What Mr Shanmugam did not make clear is whether he is bound by that advice in the same way that he is by the advice of cabinet on other matters. If he is, then the whole exercise of electing a president is stupid when he is in fact controlled by a murky unelected body.

The so-called independent "elected " President of the Republic of Singapore can only act on the advice of the Cabinet and the Council of Presidential Advisors.
In fact,the so-called independent "elected" President is just a Puppet of the MIW.
That is why u see the obedient and act blur Prataman behaving as an obedient dog barking and obeying to the commands of the MIW masters.
What is the use of veto powers IF the president is beholden to the his MIW Masters ?
Before we have a "normal" president also doing same duties,but no need to pay him so much !

The idea came about because when an old man dies and promises to rise from his grave if he sees something going wrong, "Even from my sick bed, even if you are going to lower me into the grave and I feel something is going wrong, I will get up." After so many years of having the President at very high costs to the taxpayers, we are told now that he is truly and actually impotent as in eunuch whether the title is elected or unelected President. What an expensive charade!
