This is to ensure that you do not get an unpleasant surprise of the bad reaction on the ground when the next elections come around.

I hope that you will be more sincere and serious than your colleague Mr Immortal Chong of Joo Chiat. During campaigning, he waited 20 minutes for a particular bus service, took a 10-minute ride. The following day, the newspapers announced that viola, he knew the transport problems of the Joo Chiat area!
