Don't judge youth by a few black sheep
AS A member of Generation Y, I believe I speak on behalf of many young people who are not apathetic and disrespectful as letter writer Peter Koh perceives us to be ('Disappointed by disrespectful GenY'; Forum Online, Tuesday).
Those who make disparaging or tasteless comments happen to be a small group of black sheep who give everyone the wrong impression that youth are ungrateful and uncouth. The silent majority generally remain invisible on the radar of online forums because we know empty vessels make the most noise.
There are discontented people who vent their frustration and find fault with every policy. Although some policies may not seem glittery and fancy in the short term, they are for the good of the country in the long term.
Some youth are so entrenched in their misguided beliefs that it is impossible to use reason to sway them.
