Woman gets probation for obscene acts with girl

A YOUNG woman who committed an obscene act on two occasions with a girl aged about 12 was placed on 24 months' split probation on Monday.

The 21-year-old woman, who cannot be named to protect the victim's identity, had admitted to the two charges committed in November 2008 and February 2009.

The accused, then 20 and an arts student, became acquainted with the victim through the latter's classmate in November 2007.

The pair met at the victim's birthday party in late 2007 and entered into into a homosexual relationship about two months later.

The accused would fetch the victim from school when her mother was unable to do so; hug and kiss each other on the bus when there was no one around.

Sometime in November 2008, they went to a staircase landing of a carpark where the accused committed the obscene act.
