A MOTHER and her young daughter fell to their deaths from the bedroom window of their 12th-storey executive flat in Bukit Batok early on Friday morning.
Madam He Xuejing, 46, and her daughter, Bao Peiqin, nine, were found at the foot of their block in Bukit Batok Street 24 at 7.20am.
Eyewitnesses said the pair fell together, landing close to each other on a grass patch below the window.
The mother died at once, but the daughter was seen writhing in pain by shocked residents and passers-by who were on their way to work or school.
Marketing manager Philip Devlin, a permanent resident from Australia, and his wife Faye were among those who tried to help them before the ambulance arrived.
They were alerted to the incident by the unusually loud thud they heard from their home on the fifth floor, and went down to take a look.
The mother was lying motionless with her limbs in an awkward position. The girl was gasping for breath.
