SINGAPORE: The Saudi government is sending more students to study in tertiary institutions here and the Saudi Arabian Cultural Office has been set up to oversee this plan.
Officially launched on Friday, the Saudi Arabian Cultural Office in Singapore is the official representative for the Saudi Education Ministry that sponsors Saudi students here.
So far, 13 Saudi students have completed their first year of studies at Singapore's universities.
Professor Abdulghaffar S Bazuhair, Saudi Cultural Attaché to Singapore, said: "We just started receiving the second batch of students to Singapore and I'm sure we'll have more and more (students).
"This office was opened two months ago just to take care of our students, as well as to expand the relationship between the universities in Saudi Arabia and the universities in Singapore."
"I am enjoying my study in Singapore. My first dream is to study Aerospace Engineering in Singapore," said Ahmed Al Akeel, a Saudi student in Nanyang Technological University.
Another Saudi student, Talal M Alghunaim, in Singapore Management University, said: "We just started our Saudi student club and we are trying our best to find opportunities to learn more about Singapore."
