How did they calculated inflation in Singapore at 2.8 for 2010 ?

The number say that if we compare costs of living for 2010 abd 1980, in 30 year time it has about double.

You salary from 1980 to 2010 got double or not?

to them, it doesnt matter if peasants salaries doubled... as long as their salaries doubled, can liao

All these CPI increase so meaningless when the major spending items in life aka car and house all increase multiple times more....CPI increase 2.8 per cent in 2010 but my property tax increase like 37 percent in 2010, and COE and house price increase per cent no need to say....

COE, house (you mean private ones) and cars are not CPI items, and are excluded. One is to control road congestion, one is 80% of gahment housing not counted too. So 2.8 is a bluff call.

car and house (i mean public and private ones) are not included? no wonder, CPI increase so low...actually I don't see anything increased at 2.8 per cent in 2010...cooked food always increase at 50 cent interval and how can that be 2.8 per cent, coffee? petrol? electricity? ERP? car park? car insurance? where got increase at such low rate?

2.8% is an average of a basket of items. Depend on what items you choose to calculate the inflation, you get different results.

Those PAP dogs IVY LEAGUE no doubt have chosen the best basket of items to get the best results.
