NSE: New North-South Expressway approved

There's the political cost & there's the question of practicality.

I noticed that they've started working on the the road next to Marymount for a few months now, when they removed the petrol station that was there.

This expressway is going to cause heavy traffic along Thomson Rd where there's already heavy traffic. The stretch with all the florist, Polo Club, old Police Academy is already pretty bad now

Drove along Thomson Rd years ago. Couldn''t believe it. Yes, the traffic situation there looks like causeway jam. No idea about present situation but only logical to expect it got worse compared to the past.

There's a new condo project being built opposite the old police academy, just next to the Lee Ah Moo old folks home, Some condos at the Balestier/Thomson junction have been enblocked & they are building taller condos there.

That part of Thomson is now pretty bad & when those condos are completed it will get worse. Not forgetting the problem in front of the Novena church, cars entering & leaving that church causes the traffic to slow there.

Further uo Thomson Rd they are building new condos around UOB Plaza, so expect the traffic along Thomson to be worse than it is now:(

If it is the PAP's policy to increase the population in Spore. We are going to have plenty of problems which I'm sure is not only limited to Thomspn Road.

one more big expressway from north to south...well done! we have a world class governance and the best civil service in the world...are you going to discard all these?

we are the best. so vote wisely.

Dun worry. We SHALL vote WISELY. More GOOD YEARS AHEAD!!!! (remember this?)

Build a few more major expressways also would not alleviate your traffic
congestion; not if your PAP govt continues to import foreign migrants.

Your country's infrastructures have reached breaking point!

You have two hard choices left; vote them out or emigrate.

It is not built to ease congestion at CTE. It is built to accomodate more cars. More cars means more COEs. More COEs means more money for MI
Ws.

Oh does anyone want to check the transaction records for affected Marymount area to see got powderful people or their related people sell before news? Auditor General should audit all these also. Make sure no more embarassment for our civil service.

Bro GoldenDragon and Scroobal got any secrets to uncover for this one?

Sorry, mate, this one I have no info.

Such privilege info, in the case of Marymount area, will allow the owners to cut loss.

A more lucrative scenario would involve rumours of an area to be taken over -road widening for example. Buyers would all rush to sell, each lowering his/her selling price.

If an insider knows 100% it is only a rumour, he can make a huge profit by eating all these properties up and waiting for the right time to unleash all the properties back to the market when govt comes forward to squash all the rumours. Geylang and certain parts in Tg Pagar are good examples (pre-war shophouses).
