LABOUR chief Lim Swee Say turned talk show host yesterday, interviewing workers and labour leaders to illustrate the scope of work undertaken by the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) last year - and what more it intends to do this year.

The NTUC Centre auditorium's stage was turned into the set of a talk show, with sofas, and Mr Lim behind a desk.

Firing questions and keeping up a lively banter with his guests throughout the two-hour show, he also used the occasion to outline the labour movement's goals for the year.

These include getting more companies on board the productivity bandwagon, ensuring better jobs and pay for workers, and growing the NTUC's membership.

The occasion was the NTUC's annual Workplan Seminar, which reflects on accomplishments and sets goals.

On stage, Mr Lim spoke to guests and asked them to talk about how their lives had changed in the last year. The process provided real-life examples of the efforts made by the NTUC - including some in collaboration with employers and the Government - in areas such as getting older workers re-employed, getting women back to work, and encouraging low-wage workers to train and upgrade their skills.

It is amazing that many people buy all this charade, it is obvious that these two malay ladies are part of some grassroots & what any guests or them asking question are all scripted.

Comical lim should set up a soapbox at speaker's corner & answer questions from the public, eye to eye, heart to heart to the workers of this country, SINGapore.:p

Don't play play. He could upturn a downturn just by singing.
Nobody have ever done it in this world.
He deserved to be paid millions.

Some call it desperate attempts to stay in power...

These are those few that lucky enough to get through. Ask him to provide statistics as how many personnel gain through workfare scheme. I heard more failure than success through workfare.

Two words.............FUCKING CLOWN!!!!!!

hi there

1. honest, it is absolutely worthless and hollow from the article.
2. featuring some monkey-faced sheep that literally looks like some clown loach (if you are fish lover).
3. cannot even speak properly and yet labelled the clown as some talkshow host.
4. now, this is better, betterer, betterest!
