Just heard that Apple co-founder Steve Jobs says he is taking leave of absence to "focus on my health" but will stay on as CEO.

it is best to sell apple shares. if something happen to him, apple shares will crash like a rock.

The shares will definitely fall because there will be concerns, but I think it's a buying oppurtunity. Apple has good range of products.

There's a good management team at Apple & I think SJ has laid the foundation for the future.

He is living on borrow time. Lots of Apple fans are praying to GOD, Allah, Tua Kek Kong, Kwayin, Lord Siva et al to extend Steve 's best before date

Compared to some old last leaf many here are impatiently waiting to up the lorry:)

Don't be an idiot. The premium in Apple's shares arise from its sole visionary, SJ. Without him, apply with all their capable administrators will be nothing.

A company made up from the vision of 1 man. Just a sickness scare and the price will fall. If he goes, it will take a very long time for the price to go back

Apple shares are where it is because of the companies profits & what people expect future profits twill be.

There are plenty of hardworking people at Apple. All those products from Apple are a group effort.

Granted that SJ gives the company direction. However people like Tim Cook, Jonathan Ives,... have proven themselves capable in the past.

I think there's more upside to Apple Inc even without SJ .

it is an opening where google will slowly destroy apple domination.

look at google now

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oyRQnflIv6Y?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oyRQnflIv6Y?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

google is slowly and surely position themselves against apple.

You can lay the foundation for good management.
But you cannot install Talent.

Good management is not a substitute for what talent can do.

The Apple board should hire Philip Yeo. He is very creative and like Jobs, he is a visionary.

I'm sure he could take Apple Inc to new heights.

Several years ago, John Sciali, the big one at Pepsi, and management skill expert par excellence ( as per Wall street ), managed a coup and became the CEO of Apple, throwing out Steve Jobs. The company's fortunes collapsed soon after. In a few years time, the same shareholders threw out Sciali and in came Steve Jobs.

John Sciali disappeared into the wilderness.

Everytime a leaf fall, the legion of minions will pick it up & glue back to the old tree, don't be cheated many of the sparse leaves are glued on!:D it is only a matter of time....the old tree is blessed, daily he is receiving remission from providence!!!:p

Your account is riddled with both spelling and factual inaccuracies. 2 minutes of research would have been all it takes to get the facts and the spelling correct. You obviously think that accuracy of your ramblings isn't important.

John Sculley wasn't replaced by Jobs. In 1993, he was replaced by Michael Spindler who was then replaced by Gil Amelio. Gil orchestrated the purchase of NeXT which paved the way for Steve's return in 1997.

Are you kidding us? even in Job's legion of demi god's....Philip Yeo doesn't fit!

Steve jobs created a world class company. Philip Yeo has created a world class COUNTRY!
