Actually if you think about this really carefully, Half-Breed is generating less anger from the masses despite spending quite a fortune on the YOG. The reason being this $400million will never affect the citizens directly. Notice that the ones making the noise about YOG are the younger Singapores (age below 40), i am one of those too.

Housing on the other hand is one of the biggest issue to 90% of the citizens in Singapore since they (including me) are the ones paying for it from their own CPF and pockets. This group of people is a wide spectrum ranging from young couples to retirees.
