Re: nasi lemak seller's son lose $1.8 in casino..cannot pay kena sue by marina sands.

i dont find it expensive ...because i think their nasi lemak taste great ...especially the chicken wings and chilli . whenever im in singapore , i sure visit their stall ....number 1 nasi lemak in singapore !!!!

It's the best Nasi Lemak in Singapore, but I find it very expensive and restrict myself to have it once a month.

With the losses, now I must go and check out their prices every now and then and see whether he pass his loss to us!

Just 2 weeks ago I was at vivo, they have this punggol nasi lemak at the foodcourt.I think even changi village or hup lee franchise outlets taste much better

The CV malay stall I think it's still the best. Simple choice of sets and affordable. It's most expensive than others less delicious but no question of overpricing. Value for money. The Hup Lee, you mean the one at Hougang-Kovan?

bro , sure anot , once a month ? we are not talking about few thousands dollars a meal ..the most just $10 a meal .

Re: nasi lemak seller's son lose $1.8 in casino..cannot pay kena sue by marina sands.

Ponggol nasi lemak, this place has long been overpriced; especially the one at Upper serangoon 6th mile; very small portion vs price.
For long time years back, heard that Ah Long was always at the store to collect payment.

Agree with you - the Upp S'goon branch very expensive. I banned myself after my first visit 2-3 years ago. Egg, ikan belis and fish only, also came out to $4 plus.

I prefer to drive to S'wang where Chong Pang nasi lemak is located. Much cheaper unless you get a summon for parking on the main road.

The one near NUS at West Coast also pretty reasonable.

Re: nasi lemak seller's son lose $1.8 in casino..cannot pay kena sue by marina sands.

Herd mentality.......got Q then confirm must be good.....

Same as the nasi lemak stall at Changi Village. Always long queue and people don't packet just one packet. I was in the queue once whereby someone ta pau 20-30 packets and there were at least 6-8 chaps ahead of me.

Went to the opposite stall. It tasted almost the same.

It's not the nominal price. It's the value for money. For S$10, I'd go for tenzaru soba any time, but not silly ikan bilis, kuning and kacang.

Hup lee has many franchisees all over Singapore. They sell one of the cheapest around. $1.90 for set. So if comparing on taste and pricing, if Punggol is twice as expensive, the taste must be twice as delicious. But I think Punggol taste about the same.

I am quite sure that if nasi, 1 egg, chilli, peanuts, ikan, chicken wings from both outlets and do a taste test by putting on same colour plates and layout, not many people will be able to differentiate. :p

bro , even foodcourt have the " punggol nasi lemak " ? are you sure its the same ? maybe some nasi lemak stall use the branding to mislead customer ...

even if the stall in foodcourt is from the same owner ...i might taste different too...

A communist country is precisely one that seeks to look after the needs of the people. Sinkie sheep really lacking in political nuance. All they know is "communist = bad". There are some sinkie sheep here who actually argued that democracy is better than communism as though both are diametrically opposed

I still like the ones they used to wrap inside the banana leaf. At least for 10-20mins. Less than $2 can get:p

Comparatively to my other meals, and I am reluctant to support overprice businesses. Would otherwise not patronize it if it is not bloody good. :D

I tried before the one at Katong before too. I don't think punggol nasi lemak is bad tasting. But I only feel its overpriced. :p

Re: nasi lemak seller's son lose $1.8 in casino..cannot pay kena sue by marina sands.

To be fair, I've never tasted Punggol Nasi Lemak before. I passed by the 6 milestone stall many times before, but the price and queue put me off. I'm no fan of rice anyway. I'm more of a noodle fan. As for nasi lemak, I still think the best is the CV Malay stall. Another good one was the old Bendemeer hawker centre 24-hr. (Chinese) nasi lemak stall (no more).

bro, for just $10 you cant get real good tenzaru soba . that is just a normal wheat soba ....;)

Chinese vs Malay. Not apple to apple comparison! :D

Then you don't know what you have missed.

Anyway, there is a stall at Tanjong Katong road. Open from 5:30 pm to 2:30 am except Thursday.

Somebody mentioned Chong Pang, it got no fight at all.
