He told me that he was refused when he requested to buy a HDB with his bro because he was just 30 years old back in year 2005..His mum passed away back in 1991 and his dad remarried so obviously they cannot stay together with his father..
According to HDB, he can only buy a HDB with his bro if both their parents are not residing in singapore or either passes away..This law applied to both locals and PR so the rule seems fair from the outside..
He was also damn dulan because one of his PR colleague purchased a HDB flat with his sibling which is also a PR..But both of them qualified because both their parents are not residing in singapore but still alive..
So obviously this ruling is definately against the locals and benefitting the FTs..Because locals obviously have parents who are singaporeans residing in singapore..
And now fast forward to year 2010..The prices of the resale flats went up double and althought my friend is 35 years old, he cannot afford a flat of his own under the single scheme..
So why 2 person who have served NS cannot even match up to a pair of PR siblings?
