NPS team tops in ST contest
FOR the first time, students from an international school have taken the top prize, the gold award, in The Straits Times National Schools Newspaper Competition.
The team from NPS International outdid their rivals from nine other schools in the challenge, which was to write, take pictures and lay out a four-page newspaper in 24 hours.
The NPS team - which beat competitors from Raffles Institution, NUS High and St Nicholas Girls' School - walked away with a trophy, $3,000 and internships at The Straits Times.
NUS High took the silver and $2,000, while Raffles Institution garnered the bronze and $1,000.
