外交部高级政务部长巴拉吉医生本月15日穿着米色夹克，抱病出席国会会议，还在议员休息室参加议员们为内阁资政李光耀举行的简单生日庆祝会，并同李资政和国会同僚们一一握手。一些议员现在想起，才发觉他当时原来是在向大家告别。

本月15日，巴拉吉明知病情已严重恶化，却还是坚持出席国会会议，同国会同僚见面，还参加了议员们为内阁资政李光耀举行的简单生日庆祝会。他们没想到的是他当时可能是要跟他们作最后的道别。

　　同是宏茂桥集选区议员的殷吉星说：“最令我感动的是他虽然重病在身，却还牵挂着居民。我们两个星期前在国会碰面时，他还跟我商讨如何确保选区活动能照常进行，完全没让我觉得他就快不行了。”

　　逝世前的三天，巴拉吉还跟静山—实里达公民咨询委员会主席杨本铨通过电话，讨论下个月带基层领袖到槟城度假开会的事情。

　　他指出巴拉吉直到最近都还定期出席基层会议。本月的会议原定昨天进行，随着他骤然离去，原本准备出席会议的基层领袖都改而到静山民众俱乐部去帮忙打理丧事了。

　　基层领袖罗家（51岁）说：“他真的是一个很好、很乐于助人的人。我现在已经开始想念他了。”

Everybody will die one day, so no fear.

It is true that many old people peacefully die after a fall. Happened to one of my grand uncle, shortly after his 91st birthday.

LKY last time say before. His father health started to go after a fall. I think he also said it would be his next milestone towards the final resting.
