It depends on their sense of management. Of course, if they can't they'd get into more debt.

You hit the nail on the head...the same who espouses the values of 'assets enhancement, 'more good years' & "Swiss Std of Living"...is now telling you to live your dreams. It is akin to telling you to jump off the cliff, after you can not reach the previous 'dreams'...

Goh's speech is mere lame electioneering! I'm disappointed that til today many Sinkaporeans are still chasing the impossible dream, dreamed up by the government. Remember our Swiss dream! Each time they find the goalposts had shifted and yet more excuses offered for their failures. Blame everybody and everything except themselves! For someone who moralise over the "stayers and quitters" debate, he ought to know better than to exhort Sinkaporeans to yet another impossible"New Dream" and to "rethink their priorities". The only persons who ought to rethink their priorities are in my humble opinion, the ministers and mandarins themselves. Wake up from your self-induced grandeur and self-importance. No one is indispensable! You pay yourselves the highest salaries and perks in the world so don't talk cock about rethinking priorities.

Speeches such as this are always predictable; stating the obvious; high on octane; but wanting in performance; preachy and self-serving; out of touch with reality; more form than substance and last but not least, leaves alot to be desired. Carry on dreaming, my fellow men!

Goh's fudging his record by blurring yr eyes so his legacy wont sound so bad. Hide inconvenient truths, tell half-truths, as lame as Bill Clinton's "I did not penetrate".
