We had become minorities in our own cuntry.

:( :o :(

Typical PAP setup, isn't it? Their whole world seems to revolve around how many As...

That's was 1st & last time I ever applies for a GLC job.

It must be tougher now with all the foreigners .
I suspect word has gotten around to the Sporeans studying & working abroad of the real situation in Spore.

Previously people avoided returning mainly because of reservist liabilities, now they have alot more reasons to stay away.

Who can really blame them :(

They should be checking the authenticity of the foreigners' paper certificates and not the locals' primary school results.

I can feel Sporeans frustration with the double standards.

I was expecting more people to take it out on the PAP, during the last election. That never happen & so the PAP continues to test Sporeans patience, pushing & pushing Sporeans into a corner

We will see if corned animals fight back in a few months time, if they hold the elections

I hope that the citizens will have the courage and the realisation to vote wisely in the next election, but I don't think they will.
In my opinion, the pap will again have the numbers for a resounding victory, with all their friends and families, civil servants, high level corporate executives, rich businessmen, rc members and grassroot leaders, newly minted citizens and people who have been taught that no pap = disaster.

I think many want change but the systems been "fixed".

Another cost to Spore is that true talents are turned off from seeing Spore as a true home. For example I've worked with many of the Hongkies that settled in Spore. They're as disheartened by the way things have become. Some have decided to go back to HK, some have relocated to Aust & Canada.

Can anyone blame them? If many Sporeans are leaving the island, why should they behave any different? Why should any PR feel differently:confused:

You are absolutely right, I have never been asked about my uni transcript let alone my Primary school, secondary school results. I was "black" marked in my secondary school days and I remember distinctly that one of the teacher tried to instill fear in me by saying that when I try to get a job in the future they would call up the school to check on me and the black mark will show up. Till this day, this has never happen. Its all about instilling fear, uncertainty and doubt from a young age. That is what the Singapore education is about.

There is nothing wrong with working with non, raised and born citizens. My department of around 40 has Kiwis, Koreans, Japanese, Indonesians, Americans, British, Indians, Chinese. I would say about half are from India and China. I'm like the only Singaporean in the department. All of them are PRs/Citizens. It sure is fun working in a multi-cultural department like this.

Actually not true.

When I went for an interview they NEVER asked me to show my Uni transcripts at all:D

I had interviews with various heads of the differrent department to ensure I was acceptable to all the depts I would be working with.

I later found out from my ex-bosses in Canada that the company called them to check on my work background.

Contrast that to a applying for a position in a GLC, you even have to provide primary school results:eek: After finishing an interview, I remembered receiving a call asking for my primary school results but I told them never mind :D

Heck as a professional I 'm applying for a job based on prior work experience & uni credentials. If they wanted primary schools for their records, it says alot about the company

.

My school was bettter, the teacher only used scare tactics to scare students into studying :D

Remember in primary school when a teacher scolded this under achiever that if he didn't buck up he would be sweeping longkangs.

The school is one of the better known missionary schools so maybe that students ended up in the civil servants, PAP or someone as important as Saamyboy :eek: :D

Instead of complaining why not go to a developed angmo country and work in an MNC and be a FT yourself?

Hey if you cant beat them why not join them?

Who says I'm not doing that now? All these threads about Singapore citizens being a minority, disadvantaged etc, only seems to be happening in this forum. Maybe its just how the Papees are implementing the policy that is creating such a big issue in Singapore.

Some have decided to go back to HK,

At least after devoting much thinking about the land they are born, they realise they should go back. Hong Kong under Chinese rule as it should be is not as suppressive or terrifying as some of them think.

It should be. Singaporeans are largely, slow-thinking pieces of dumb crap. Working in an MNC broadens your exposure to the wide spectrum of workers coming from various parts of the world.

It is also a way to get away from the typical Singaporean work culture too.
