M'sian charged with sexual harassment in S'pore

A MALAYSIAN waiter working in Singapore was charged in court for asking an underage girl to take off her clothes and insert her finger into her genitals.

Sin Chew Daily reported that Pan Hock Hoon, 25, was charged on Thursday on six counts, including sexually harassing the minor, inducing sexual acts and possession of pornography.

It was reported that Pan befriended the 13-year-old girl via the Internet.


In September 2008, he allegedly asked the girl to remove her clothes at a flat. He also asked her to touch her breasts and put her finger into her genitals.

For the offence, he faces a jail term of up to five years, a fine or both.

The accused has also been charged with sexually harassing another girl whom he befriended through the Internet in October of the same year.

He faces a jail term of up to 10 years, a fine or both. A pre-trial was set for Aug 16. -The Star/ANN

Even if the girl is underage, why cannot the man ask her to take her clothes off She might be a minor but not an idiot How many girls will take their clothes off just because someone asks them to

It might be a lewd suggestion, but how can it be considered criminal molest

I guess that's why I never became a lawyer, I just don't have a grasp of the finer points of the law.

I am not familiar with the law either, but I think any time an adult is dealing with a minor, the benefit of the doubt is given to the minor and the adult is expected to exhibit some kind of duty of care towards the minor.

Hence the adult is not expected to induce the minor to do anything sexual, or to commit any crime, or anything that is illegal or immoral.

Hence in the case involving Anthony Ler, even though the minor was the one who actually stabbed Ler's ex wife, Ler got the death penalty whereas the minor was I believe, sent to a home.

In this particular case involving the waiter and the young girl, I would have to agree with the charges.
That's also why I stay as far away as possible from all minors, boys and girls. That and their spoilt brat behaviour.

I don't think so. Otherwise they would have included that detail. Curious to know who reported him to the police
