The UN is also an imperfect tool. Singapore is not a sigantory to man so called standard treaties (as are other first world nations) hence there is no obligation to comply. But of course the UN can act to impose negative resolutions on member nations--if the P5 agree to it. And would that happen to Singapore in the immediate future?

Bound by is different form what is actions are. So long as the US needs SG as a political economic base there will be no substantial foreign intervention. Even if there will be, if would be disastrous for the people of Singapore

Chee has done nothing for the individual Singaporean except protest. That is not the first pirority of the normal Singaporean. you have failed your politics.

Chee and SDP are ahead of the curve. What they are doing is for the collective good of S'poreans.

It is this never say die and can do spirit that are increasingly important to S'pore. Chee, SDP and its supporters are embodiments of such values.
 
Lots of countries violated so caleed international norms and not because they want to but because of the culture of the people.
