why would anyone want to learn a language like french when it is only spoken in france and their ex-colonised poor countries like sierra leone, caledonia etc?

seriously, we can tell the presenter has abit of handons on french, but what is his standard in mandarin? he cant even master his own mother tongue for crying out loud!!!
