The five supporters were activists Seelan Palay, 25; Chong Kai Xiong, 28; Yap Keng Ho, 48; Jaslyn Go, 37; and former Workers' Party candidate Chia Ti Lik, 36.
The group allegedly took part in an illegal assembly in front of Block 190, Toa Payoh Lorong 6, on Aug 9, 2008 - Singapore's National Day.
It was to publicise the SDP's Tak Boleh Tahan (Malay for 'cannot take it anymore') campaign, which was targeted at issues like rising costs of living.
A pre-trial conference has been fixed for June 2. Each faces a fine of up to $1,000 if convicted under the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act.
USD , the new opp party and subsidiary of SDP is obviously comprised of criminals.
